In this episode, we're taking an honest look at LinkedIn and discussing where it fits into your digital marketing journey. • Why beginners often feel pressured to be on every platform
• How to choose platforms based on your audience instead of trends

Welcome to the Grow with Laura podcast where we talk about building income online as a beginner without confusion, pressure, or pretending to have it all figured out. My name is Laura, and this podcast is for digital beginners who are curious about online business, digital marketing, and using social media as a tool to build something meaningful. If you are learning, exploring, or trying to find your footing in this space, you are in the right place. In the last episode, we talked about YouTube and how it can help you build long-term visibility and deeper trust over time. Today, we're going to talk about LinkedIn and more importantly, whether you actually need it as a beginner or if it is something you can step into later. Okay, let's get right into it. Okay, so let's start by understanding what LinkedIn really is. LinkedIn is more a professional platform. It is designed for networking, career growth, and business conversations. So the way people show up on LinkedIn is different from Instagram or even TikTok, right? It is more structured, more formal, more focused on professional identity. Now, this does not mean it is not valuable. Let's be very clear on that. It can be extremely powerful, but the real question is not whether LinkedIn works. The real question is does LinkedIn make sense for you right now? And for most beginners, the honest answer is no. For most, right? And I want to say that clearly because a lot of people feel pressure to be everywhere. You hear about Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, that, that, that. And suddenly it feels like you need to show up on all of them. I keep on talking about this, right? But that approach creates overwhelm. And when you are overwhelmed, you slow down or you stop. Trust me, I know. I'm going through my own thing now, you know, where there's so much overwhelm. And I know that you know what, I gotta slow down, right? So instead of asking, where should I be, I want you to ask, where can I show up consistently? Because consistency is what builds results. Now, let me bring this back to my own experience. LinkedIn is not my focus right now, and that is a conscious decision. Not because it does not work, but because I know where my audience is and how I prefer to communicate. And that is important. You want to build in a way that feels natural to you. Because if it does not feel natural, you will struggle to stay consistent. Now, let's talk about when LinkedIn does make sense. LinkedIn works very well if you are targeting professionals, working in a corporate or business environment, offering services that align with career growth or business development. In those situations, LinkedIn can be a very strong platform because the audience is already there for that type of content. But if you're just starting and you're still figuring out your voice, your message, and your direction, LinkedIn can feel restrictive. Okay? And that is where people get stuck. They try to force themselves, you know, into a platform that does not match their current stage. So here is the simple takeaway. You do not need LinkedIn to start, right? You need clarity, consistency, and a platform that fits how you want to show up. And later, if LinkedIn aligns with your growth, you can step into it. But right now, your focus is not expansion, it is building something that works. And in the next episode, we're going to talk about Pinterest, a platform that many beginners overlook, but that works in a completely different way. Thank you so much for spending this time with me.
