Welcome to the Grow with Laura podcast where we talk about building income online as a beginner without confusion, pressure, or pretending to have it all figured out. My name is Laura, and this podcast is for digital beginners who are curious about online business, digital marketing, and using social media as a tool to build something meaningful. If you are learning, exploring, or trying to find your footing in this space, you are in the right place. In the last episode, we walked through the full journey from idea to income, mindset, offer, systems, and sales. Today I want to talk about why so many beginners stay stuck even when they are trying, even when they are putting in the effort. So let's get right into it. Okay, let's be honest. Most beginners are not stuck because they are not working hard enough. Trust me, being there done that. They're stuck because they are doing too much without direction. And there are a few patterns that show up again and again, right? The first one is overconsumption. Again, my hands are up. Okay. You're watching videos, saving posts, downloading guides, learning constantly, but not actually applying anything. Where's the time? You're doing all these things. When are you going to be able to apply it? Right? It feels productive, but it keeps you in place. That's the truth. Speaking from experience. Because learning without action builds pressure, not progress. Okay. So you're like, oh my God, I have to do this course. Oh my god, I have to do this. I downloaded this. I did this. I did this. I did that. Yeah, all over the place. Okay. Now, the second is trying to do everything at once. The key word here or the key phrase is doing everything at once. You want to be on Instagram, you want to be on TikTok, YouTube, email, podcast, da-da-da-da. You want to learn everything, you want to be on everything at the same time. No, no. That's tough. And trust me, I know you can end up on all these platforms. Yes, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying you cannot, because guess what? Am I not on Instagram, on TikTok, and on podcast? But get one done first. Okay. So you're trying to learn everything at the same time, build everything at the same time, and that creates that overwhelm. Right? Instead of moving forward, you freeze. I remember those days I would just be like, I'm trying to do this, trying to do this, trying to do that, trying to do all these things. Meanwhile, I have no full grip on just the one thing, and I'm trying to do all these things, and I'm just like, I would just pack up. And it's it affects you in all kinds of ways. These things are supposed to be good things, relaxing things, you know, helping you, but it ends up affecting you. So like I said, instead of moving forward, uh, guess what? You freeze right now. The third is not having a clear direction. You are posting, but you are not sure who you are speaking to. You're creating, but you are not sure what you are leading forward or leading towards. Uh so even when you show up, it does not connect. And the last one is constantly second-guessing, you're second-guessing yourself. You start something, then you question it, you stop it, you switch, you restart, you know, you're just all over the place. And that cycle keeps you from building momentum. So now, here is the truth you do not need more information, you need a structure. You need to decide who you are helping, what you're helping them with, and what simple path you are going to follow. That is it. Because when you simplify, you move, and when you move, you learn, and when you learn, you improve. That is how progress actually happens.
